At last we get back to new maps, but this new Arachnophobia campaign is off to a rough start. We have a trivial map with a one hero solution, and we instantly call every wave. That's when you know you've really undertuned the balance.
The enemies here are just very underwhelming. Glarebrood were never that big a threat back in the base game. They try to overwhelm you with sheer numbers, but that just invites Tricannon Bombardment spam. The Balloon Spiders are a miss as well. The fact that they (usually) start out on the path just means that the Tricannon can target them before they start flying, and one good Bombardment will wipe them out. Spider Sisters are nowhere near as threatening as Twisted Sisters were, and while Priests of the Web are technically slightly more dangerous than Cult Priests - turning into Glarewardens instead of Abominations - honestly by the time Glarewardens start appearing you already have the tools to take them down fairly easily. I found myself actively hoping the Priests would transform, as you get full gold for killing their Glarewarden form.
All in all it's a bit of a headscratcher. I know this was a free campaign, not a paid DLC, but still, this was ridiculously easy.
